1868 - Letter sent from Cairo 17th November 1868 to Rome franked Egypt 1p. The sender, in order to avoid the Papal tax to the receiver used the French Postal Office of Alexandria which insufficiently franked the letter with France 40c. Horizontal pair + 20c. (29+31), all with "5680" numeral cancellations. The letter was subsequently incorrectly taxed . Very rare (Colla cert.)
